6. Eliminate Mindless Eating
Many people have eliminated their body’s natural fullness cues simply through eating mindlessly. When you don’t pay attention to what you’re eating, your body doesn’t have a chance to recognize the fact that it’s full. Not only that, you’ll find that you’re unsatisfied with what you’ve eaten, constantly heading back into the kitchen for more munchies because you barely recognize that you’ve eaten anything. Instead of eating in front of the television, sit down at the table with your snack. Put down your phone and, if you engage in any activity at all, make it good conversation with someone that you care about. Take the time to savor the food that’s going into your mouth, enjoying each bite instead of rushing through the meal. You’ll be surprised by how much less you eat when you actually pay attention to what you’re eating.
