15. Shop the Outside
If you’re looking for a surefire way to keep your grocery cart healthier and your weight loss journey on track, try shopping the outside of the store. The center aisles are where you’ll get sucked in, buying unhealthy treats that will sabotage your weight loss goals. On the outside, you’ll find the meat, dairy, and produce sections of your store, all of which contain healthy foods that are better for fueling your body and pushing you toward your weight loss goals. When you shop the outside of the store first, you’ll be able to fill your cart with all of those healthy items first, making snacks look less appealing when you finally reach them. It’s also important to never shop hungry. If you shop on a full stomach, you’ll be much more likely to choose healthy meals that will fit better in your weight loss plan.
The decision to lose weight starts a journey. Each small step along the path is well worth celebrating. Be proud of yourself for the healthy choices that you make, and keep in mind that ultimately, there are more important things than a number on a scale: the way your clothes fit, how you feel, and your overall health and well-being. The scale may change slowly, but the lifestyle changes you make will help you stay healthy and keep your body in better shape.
