7. Sleep in a Dark Room

A lot of people leave their TV or nightlight on at night for comfort, but this could be majorly disrupting your sleep. Even something as small as the light on your alarm clock could make it difficult to fall and stay asleep. It’s best to sleep in a dark room – the darker, the better. Block the outside light with heavy curtains. If you can’t seem to stop the streetlights or headlights from streaming in, wear a sleep mask over your eyes. Look for an alarm clock that lets you dim the lit numbers. If you get up during the night, keep the lights low. To get around your house safely, leave a nightlight on in the hallway, bathroom or living room.
